Compassion Ministry

In keeping with our mission to "to love and serve God, to love and serve each other, to love and serve the world", our Compassion Ministry team encourage everyone at Berwick Vineyard Church to participate in loving and serving the poor, the disadvantaged, the marginalised, the sick and the oppressed in our local communities.

Berwick Vineyard Church has been able to offer ongoing care and practical support in our local neighbourhoods through partnership with other Christian welfare agencies, churches and ministries such as Endeavour Ministries / The Andrews Centre, St. Matthews Community Church, Cornerstone (Dandenong), Access Ministries (Berwick Secondary School Chaplaincy) and Big Brothers Big Sisters (South East Region).

In these partnerships it has been our privilege to love and serve many people through a variety of activities, including:

  • preparing and serving a weekly midday meal at The Andrews Centre;
  • providing financial and food relief to Cornerstone;
  • providing non perishable food supplies for distribution by Endeavour Ministries;
  • supporting fundraising events run by Big Brothers Big Sisters;
  • offering fortnightly prayer support at The Andrews Centre;
  • providing financial and practical support for events run by Endeavour Ministries;
  • providing financial and prayer support to the Berwick Secondary School chaplain, via the Access Ministries chaplaincy program.

The bible tells us that Jesus Christ has a special heart for the lost, the poor and the broken hearted.  As His followers, we seek to imitate His life  and bring peace, freedom, healing, forgiveness and restoration to those in need, in His name.
